Lagardère Sports has announced Arc Children’s Centre (ACC) as the Official Charity of the SMBC Singapore Open 2017.
This marks the fourth time ACC has been the Official Charity for the tournament.
An exciting new addition to this year’s association will see spectators have the opportunity to raise funds for ACC via a fun activity called the Chip In For Arc Challenge.
The Chip In For Arc Challenge takes place daily at the practice green named The Range @ New Tanjong at set timings from January 19 – 22 (please refer to the event details below for specific timings).
For every donation of $5, participants will be entitled to a set of three balls with the aim to land the balls within the two-metre zone around three different pin positions.
All scores will be tabulated and the top-10 participants with the lowest combined total distance to the holes after the first three days will secure a spot in the Sunday Chip Off Finale.
Winners of the Sunday Chip Off Finale will stand to win exclusive prizes including business class return tickets to Bangkok, a two-night stay at the Shangri-La Bangkok, an OSIM massage chair and various golf merchandise. Visitors to the tournament must register on-site and all proceeds will go to ACC. Terms and Conditions apply.
The Arc Children’s Centre is a day centre that was set up to provide much-needed support to families with children suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Working closely with the children’s healthcare team, the Centre strives to be part of the circle of care for every child in need and aims to provide a sanctuary for the children’s continuing education, safety and bonding. Mrs Goh Chok Tong is the patron of the Centre.
“We are pleased to have the Arc’s Children Centre as the Official Charity of the SMBC Singapore Open again this year. It was a privilege for everyone to have been able to help with such a noble cause last year and we hope to continue this effort and contribute more with the Chip In For Arc Challenge,” said Patrick Feizal Joyce, Vice President, Golf – Asia, Lagardère Sports, the event promoter.
